Monica Sales

Monica Sales is the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager of the Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI) at the American Heart Association. In her role at the American Heart Association, Monica is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic communications and media relations for the Association’s Healthcare Business Solutions programs, which include PTFI. Since starting at the American Heart Association in 2019, Monica’s work has focused on driving brand relevance through strategic, compelling media placements and marketing/communications outcomes that expand and nurture target audiences. The goal of her work is to maximize the Association’s mission impact and grow organization-wide priorities and create strategies to increase revenue through support of revenue-generating programs and business goals. 

With her previous roles at marketing, advertising and PR agencies, Monica lends a background of delivering top-notch results for clients in the healthcare and non-profit industries. 

Monica is a graduate of Texas A&M University. Her passion and curiosity about food stem from her coursework on agriculture and the ability to transform our health and the planet by better understanding what we eat and the impact it has on the world around us.
